Meet the Judges of Sage Tank 2022! This year, SageTank features five incredible judges with experience in startups, Venture Capital, and social entrepreneurship.


Miles Bird is the managing partner and founder at StoryHouse Ventures. Miles has held investment and operating roles in the start-up world for the past decade. While also have led investments in over thirty early stage businesses including Gabi(ACO. Experian), XOS Trucks(Nasdaq: XOS), Imperfect Foods and Alloy. (CMC ‘13)


Matt Thompson is an executive at Tech Coast Angels - the largest angel group in the United States and was previously SVP at Skyview Capital. Matt has an MBA from Stanford and a BA in economics and biology from Pomona college. Matt is an active angel investor and speaks on panels and writes about Private Equity and Venture Capital, Entperunship and Technology topics. (PO ‘96)


Gemma Bulos is a multi-award-winning social entrepreneur(SocEnt) having launched three social enterprises bringing clean water and sanitation to over a million people in Asia and Africa. She has won numerous awards including best SocEnt in Asia at the World Economic Forum. She is currently the Director of Kravis Lab for social impact at Claremont Mckenna College.


Jamil Karriem is the founder and CEO of Hiki. Hiki is a social ecosystem for autistic adults. Prior to starting Hiki he led the estate team at Bungalow - building the largest co-living operator in the world. He began his career in banking at JPMorgan. After JPMorgan he helped launch Blankstone’s first retail focused alternative investment platform. (PO ‘12)


Steve Barsh is a managing partner at Dreamit Ventures. He has helped launch over 100 companies that have generated billions in enterprise value. He has extensive experience working with founders on rapidly identifying and de-risking critical make or break assumptions, honing go-to-market strategy, and guiding early stage venture rounds.
